| Observation
is participation, to observe is to participate, to create.
Spiritual
teachings often refer to 'the Absolute' as already perfect, as always
unchanging. Some people refer to this as our true inner state.
That is an old belief. The belief was a mechanism of survival
that gave people who were in turmoil, fear, stress or struggle,
the assurance that there was some realm that was secure, safe and
unchanging.
I see
Life as not inside or outside.
Life IS, and it is always in a state of transformation
and transcendence. It is always becoming, always evolving.
The whole cosmos is evolving; there is nothing stagnant anywhere.
As Life,
as presence, there is a sense of all-rightness with what-is, but
I would not say it is unchanging. It takes in and observes
everything, and this creates subtle realizations that bring about
greater awarenesses. In observing and participating in
Life, one can do so from a place of all-rightness, but I would
not say that the 'all-rightness' is an absolute, stagnant realm.
I see the whole purpose of our existence is to evolve who we are.
If we say that the 'inner' is non-changing, then what would be the
point of existence? What would be the point of having an 'outer'
experience if it does nothing for the 'inner' being? It would
be pointless, a wasteful expenditure of energy.
I see Life as a synergy
in which all the parts work to form a greater whole. So it
is not a matter of seeing an inside or outside. It is a matter
of seeing that this is Life, this is happening. We have developed
the ability to observe and to participate simultaneously.
One is both observer and participant in this great arena of Life.
When we realize this connection, we see that every aspect, every
nuance is part of Life. It is not something happening against
Life or outside of Life; it is all part of the synergy, and
it is unfolding.
I see
that we are the Intelligence
that is gaining a greater perspective of these possibilities.
We are literally birthing aspects and possibilities into the arena
of experience, through our brain, our intellect, our awareness,
our participation, our observation. All of these add a dynamic
to The Consciousness, a realization of itself that wasn't there
before.
There are depths
of participation and observation, and that depth is constantly expanding.
Humanity is Life observing itself, and it is Life constantly creating
itself. We create from possibilities that become apparent.
The more conditional and polarized we are, the more limited the
expression of Life that is created.
Life is an ongoing, unfolding, evolving experience. It
is The Consciousness experiencing
itself through these possibilities. Each experience allows
for a greater awareness, and a greater capacity for more experience. We
keep evolving, allowing the brain to understand and connect in the
experience, which in turn brings into existence further possibilities.
So there are things that are now possible for humans that were
not possible 2,000 years ago, because the brain has evolved that
much in that short period of time.
Passivity is a manifestation of conditions. Conditions impose
boundaries which curtail the development of the brain. The
brain needs an enriched environment in which it is always able to
look beyond the parameters, beyond the boundaries. That awareness in
turn creates a greater observability of Life, which in turn creates
a greater participation in Life.
So if we are structured, curtailed by beliefs and concepts,
the Life expression is hampered and limited, more or less going
in circles. A large portion of humanity is stuck in that loop.
When we dare to question the belief, the structure, something
begins to happen in the brain. The brain starts to recognize
and create new neural pathways that can sustain, through observation
and participation, a whole new being, a whole new creation.
Any belief in 'the other' limits participation. Our ability
to observe Life, to participate in Life, is dependent upon our ability
to live without a sense of 'the other.' The sense of 'the
other' is a form of control and boundary. For example, the
belief in God limits the believer to the confines of what one is
supposed to be in service of this deity which is 'other.'
That creates a built-in restriction for human evolution and development.
It is a built-in limitation that we need to abandon, because
we now see that such beliefs are the very core of the problems we
are experiencing.
To the extent we believe in 'the other,' we believe we are not responsible.
If we make something else responsible, we severely limit our participation.
That creates a circular existence which repeats the same
things over and over again expecting the result to be different.
Nothing is absolute. We don't have an absolute ground of being
that is unmoving. The whole cosmos is activity, Life happening,
and it is evolving. Everything on this planet is a part
of a greater whole, and it affects the greater whole. The
cosmos is here, Life is here, and it is connected. Life by
its very nature is connectivity.
As you
start seeing how everything is connected, you drop the idea
of the outside, you let go of 'the other,' and you start taking
responsibility for your unique expression of Life. You can
take responsibility for your unique
expression of Life only when you become willing to let go of
the concepts, beliefs, religions--everything that is 'about' what
Life is supposed to be--and start experiencing what Life is.
Then the polarity, the inner and the outer, disappear, and you are
Life. You are Life discovering itself and simultaneously
creating itself. top
